Found the following historical reports on the Birds Queensland website:

11.09.03 Coonabarabran NSW (extension of range) - Judith Lukin/Amunssen
03.10.04 Bracken Ridge - male fossicking in mulch. Positive ID. No binoculars needed - K.Pettit
    12.02.05 Jindalee - one female (?) - T.Goode
29.12.05 Quart Pot Creek, Stanthorpe; close to business centre; heard calling - D. Niland
29.05.06 Stanthorpe - in a backyard; six seen; there on and off for at least 2 years - Esther Townsend

It is still not apparent to me whether the Brisbane records were ever confirmed or formally accepted by a rarities committee. I would be grateful for any further information in that regard.

Esther Townsend has also provided me with further information from June Harris about blackbirds in Stanthorpe which I will report separately.

Hi Michael,

I think Common Blackbirds have been in Coonabarabran for some considerable time. I personally recorded them there in October 1999 and every time I have been there since. They are not at all uncommon in the town, especially along the river.

Cheers

Nicci
